CHANGE BEGINS WITH…
Did you know…
In Arizona, you can be found to have ZERO PERCENT responsibility for an accident by both parties' insurance companies, an independent investigation, statements made by the offending driver and their passengers, and a criminal investigation but the offending driver and their passengers can walk away with hundreds of thousands of dollars in judgement not just against your insurance company, but from YOU as well?
Ruth’s family found this out firsthand when on February 8, 2025, Ruth, a 17-year-old Maricopa girl was traveling home to pet her new bunny on SR 238 when, without warning, she was hit head on by an out-of-control, inebriated driver, traveling at a criminal rate of speed upwards of 100mph (the speed inside an F-1 tornado). This driver has been charged with multiple felonies to include Aggravated Assault and Aggravated DUI. The impact of this crash came very close to killing her, almost cutting her in half and causing multiple traumatic injuries that she will live with or risk dying from for the rest of her life. She has spent months in the hospital fighting for her life and has endured 19 surgeries and counting.
Due to a perversion of Arizona Insurance laws, despite being found to have ZERO percent responsibility comparatively, her family now faces a lawsuit that could result in all the occupants of the offender’s car (who were not even all wearing their seatbelts) and the intoxicated offender himself walking away with hundreds of thousands of dollars directly out of the pocket of Ruth’s parents, not just the insurance company. Ruth would be left without even a home for her to recover in while she requires 24/7 care.
The family is already out tens of thousands of dollars because the offender did not have enough insurance coverage. Ruth’s medical bills are in the millions and counting so she will see no compensation since the hospital gets priority.
Intoxicated Defendant and his passenger = 100’s of Thousands of Dollars
The Victim = Destitute!
“This is an aggrivated, felonious assault where the weapon was a 1.5 ton projectile traveling at the speed inside an F-1 tornado. Why doesn’t my daughter get the same rights as other victims?”
If you just Make a Call, you can make a change for the next victim…
Ruth’s family is simply asking for change. Please CALL YOUR AZ STATE LAW MAKERS. Tell them you are “Friends of Ruth” and demand that they work with Ruth’s family to enact change to protect victims of felonious assault. Just because the offender used a 3000 lb. projectile, hurtling at his victim at upwards of 100mph does not mean that victim should not be afforded victim protection simply because the weapon was a car. It is time to change AZ Insurance Laws and protect victims of violent crimes regardless of the weapon.
